This information was from an article from the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.reviewjournal.com\/business\/coronavirus-leaves-many-nevadans-without-health-insurance-income-2043855\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Las Vegas Review Journal<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There have been job reports for May that had suggested the damage of unemployment has slowed down. \u201cThe unemployment rate has declined from 14.7% to a still-high 12.3%.\u201d To learn more about the unemployment rate you can take a look at the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.reviewjournal.com\/business\/number-of-workers-applying-for-jobless-benefits-falls-slightly-2055924\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Las Vegas Review Journal<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.investopedia.com\/articles\/insurance\/11\/intro-cobra-health-insurance.asp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">COBRA<\/a>, if offered, may not be an affordable option for individuals and their families.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What is COBRA you may ask?&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.investopedia.com\/articles\/insurance\/11\/intro-cobra-health-insurance.asp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">COBRA<\/a>&nbsp;is a health insurance program&nbsp;mandated for employers&nbsp;to provide to their employees for groups that have&nbsp;20 or more fulltime-equivalent employees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This allows eligible employees and their dependents to continue benefits of health coverage when an employee loses their job or&nbsp;has&nbsp;a reduction of work hours.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The high cost of Cobra is contributed to the loss of the employer\u2019s contribution,&nbsp;having the employee to be fully responsible for&nbsp;monthly&nbsp;premiums.
